What I help with

Four areas. Zero jargon.

You don't need four different experts and a decoder ring. You need one person who sees the whole picture and tells you what matters first, in words you'd actually use.

IT

Everyday IT

Computers, email, Wi-Fi, and backups that just work, so you can stop turning it off and on again.

Sounds like you if

  • Your "IT person" is whoever is least busy
  • You're not sure your backups would actually work
  • Vendor quotes read like a foreign language
AI

Practical AI

Put AI to work on the boring stuff, without handing it the keys to your data.

Sounds like you if

  • Staff already use AI tools and there's no policy
  • You've heard AI can help but don't know where to start
  • You want a second opinion before buying an AI product
IS

Information Security

Keep the scammers, ransomware gangs, and "urgent invoice" emails on the outside.

Sounds like you if

  • Your cyber insurance form asked questions you couldn't answer
  • You take credit cards and need to stay compliant
  • You want to know your real risk, not just a scary report
OT

Operational Technology

The computers that run your machines. They need love too, and probably a fence.

Sounds like you if

  • Shop-floor PCs still run old versions of Windows
  • Machines are connected to the office network "somehow"
  • Equipment vendors have remote access and you're not sure how

Fun, not boring

The Workshops

Tech training doesn't have to taste like a compliance video. Every session is hands-on: real examples, plain English, stories that stick, and a few laughs. No slideshow naps allowed.

SIGNATURE WORKSHOP

The Phish Fry

We catch real phishing emails, batter them with red flags, and fry them in front of a live audience. Your team leaves able to smell a scam from across the inbox.

Groups of [10 to 40] · 30 or 60 min · On-site or virtual · Tartar sauce not included

  • Spot the 7 classic signs of a phish
  • "Phish or Legit?" with real examples from the wild
  • What to do if you already clicked (no shame)
  • Fridge-ready "Is it a phish?" cheat sheet

How it works

Simple, from the first call.

1

Grab a coffee and chat

A free, relaxed call about what's bugging you. No homework, no vocabulary quiz.

2

I poke around

I look at what you have and explain what's working, what's wobbly, and why it matters.

3

You get a clear plan

Priorities ranked by impact and cost, written so you could explain it to your grandma.

4

We knock it out

I guide the work, wrangle your vendors, or hand you a plan your team can run with.

Who I work with

Organizations too busy running things to become tech experts, and who shouldn't have to.

Small businesses

Offices, shops, and practices without a dedicated IT person.

Manufacturers

Plants where the office network and the production floor have to coexist safely.

Local government and nonprofits

Villages, boards, and charities stretching every dollar.

Community groups

Libraries, senior centers, and clubs that want members safe online.

Pricing

Fair prices, built around you.

Every group is different, so there's no one-size-fits-all price tag. We'll talk through what you need on the free intro call, and you'll get a clear quote in writing before anything starts. No vendor commissions, no surprises.

About

Hi, I'm James Peplow.

For 19+ years I've kept a manufacturing company's technology running and secure: servers and cloud systems, hundreds of laptops and remote workers, production machines on the shop floor, and the compliance paperwork that comes with taking credit cards and buying cyber insurance.

Along the way I learned that the hardest part of technology usually isn't the technology. It's explaining it so the people who run the place can make a good decision. That's what PeplowPC is for.

Questions

Good questions to ask first

Do I need to know anything about technology?

No. If you can describe what's bugging you, that's enough. I'll ask questions and explain everything in everyday language.

Will you try to sell me software or hardware?

No. I don't resell products or take vendor commissions. If you need something, I'll lay out your options and you buy from whoever you like.

We already have an IT company. Can you still help?

Yes. I can be a second opinion, translate what your provider is telling you, or help you get more out of the service you already pay for.

Do you work on-site or remotely?

Both. I'll come to you wherever you are, or we can meet online.

What happens on the free intro call?

We talk for about [20] minutes about what's going on. You'll leave with at least one useful next step, whether or not we work together.

How much does it cost?

It depends on what you want: the workshop, the size of the group, and where we're meeting. We'll sort it out on the free intro call, and you'll get a written quote before anything is booked.

Is the Phish Fry an actual fish fry?

Sadly, no. But snacks are strongly encouraged at every workshop, and I never say no to a fish sandwich.
